Project 7: Ways of Curbing Poverty "A Global Perspective of West Africa as a Case Study"

 



 


he aim of this project is to look at issues of poverty as it affects people, households, and their local and international communities. A comparative study will be done between the developed economies and the less developed economies. Policies will be formulated based on the information and data gathered from the advanced countries in order to help curb poverty in the less developed economies.

               Causes of poverty in Africa 

    • Slave Trade that took about 20 millions West Africans in their youth age to work in the Americas, is a fundamental source of poverty in the west coast of Africa.

  • Stage 4 - Visitations and consultations of Government Agency 

    • The ISA group on poverty eradication visiting the Amuwo Odofin Local Government. That is the AOLG council manager Engr Afolabi giving the students a brief lecture on Poverty alleviation programs of the AOLG.

  • Stage 7 - SS1C  Civic Education Week 5 Topic ‘Employment as the solution to the problem of Poverty’. 
    This topic is related to the Activity 7 topic of the ISA project, which Is Curbing Poverty         in West Africa focuses on Nigeria as a case study.

    The students took turns doing their class presentations as part of their CA record.
